The call has gone out for the marathon in the Königswinkel 2025!
Preparations for the 23th Königsschlösser Marathon to be held on Sut. 26th July 2025 are well underway and the first registrations have already fluttered through our letterbox. The Königsschlösser Marathon hosted in the East Allgäu - one of the most attractive and prettiest regions in the whole of Bavaria – is a unique run. This was confirmed once again by the run staged this year: over 450 runners went under starter’s orders in Füssen on a day with the most perfect weather conditions. Some three kilometres later, with the town left far behind, the runners could look forward to the rest of the run through the most beautiful countryside imaginable: across the Hopfer forest, round Lake Hopfensee, across the floodplain of the river Lech along the banks of Lake Forggensee, across lush green meadows and past the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, through the Schwansee woodlands and on to the final sprint for the town again.
New course record due to new route in 2023: Benjamin Polin set a new track record of 2:27:32 for the men and Maria Elisa Legelli is the fastest woman setting a track record of 2:48:03 (2023). These are both times that the runners next year will have their work cut out to beat.
Have we whetted your appetite to take part in this fabulous marathon in the Königswinkel? The registration fee includes a runner present, medals for finishers, a finisher video, a downloadable and printable certificate and finally our legendary pasta party. It goes without saying that the impeccable time keeping by davengo and the added incentive of the beautiful countryside are also included.
Don’t miss out on this 23th anniversary Königsschlösser Marathon!
